せっかくなので押入から 3460 引っ張り出してきて
転がっていた NetBSD/arc なマシンで
dd if=boot.fs of=/dev/rsd1d bs=64k
して 3460 で SCSI disk から boot してみました。
結果、やたらと時間がかかりましたが起動はしました。

Aborted ってのは全然ディスクが読めてなさそうなので
IDなり接続なりを確認した方がいいかもしれません。
